Debbie Beaulne
Vice President, Group Benefits. Debbie manages the day-to-day operations of the Group Benefits team as well as consulting responsibilities on some of our key accounts. Debbie is responsible for human resources and training and development and works closely with our core leadership group in charting the organizations growth and direction. Debbie joined Dehoney Financial Group in 1990 and has been integral in developing the Group Benefits team to become one of the finest in western Canada.
Jennifer Birmingham, CEBS
Sales Associate / Account Manager. Jennifer brings with her six years of group benefits experience, four of which were with a major Canadian Group insurer. She recently obtained her Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation through the International Foundation and Dalhousie University, industry leaders in employee benefit and compensation education.
James H. Dehoney, B.B.A.
President. Jim Dehoney oversees all aspects of Dehoney and Associates. His depth of knowledge in all areas of our business makes him an excellent resource to our clients for all their insurance-related questions including individual, pension or group life and health.
Since 2001, Jim has earned the prestigious Top of the Table distinction from the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), the world's premier association for sales professionals in the life insurance-based financial services business. MDRT members are accomplished, ethical professionals considered to be among the best in the world. Round Table membership is an exclusive honor achieved only by a small percentage of all life insurance and financial services advisors worldwide.
Carol Fyffe
Group Account Manager. Carol joined us in August 2002 to work on administrative projects. Carol brings with her two years of group benefits experience after performing benefit administration services for a large health and welfare trust plan.
Sheldon Landry, Pensions and Investments Administrator
Sheldon is a versatile individual who brings 8 years of experience in the Financial Services sector both having worked as an advisor and an administrator. Sheldon's role has him facilitate the day to day administration of our Group Pension book of business as well as our individual investment accounts. Attention to detail and client services are attributes Sheldon hopes will lend towards greater efficiency and productivity as we expand our investment base.
Sharon Libin
Group Benefits Account Manager. Sharon comes to us with several years of benefit experience, the most recent being Long Term Disability Analyst with Manulife Financial. We are certain her expertise in disability management will allow us to better assist our clients with the ever-changing area of complex disability related issues.
Janice Mackay-Smith
You will find Janice at our reception desk, where she not only assists callers and visitors, but also provides customer service for our individual life insurance clients. Janice has completed the CFP (Certified Financial Planning) program. Since 1994, Janice has been dedicated to providing superb customer service, in addition to assuming a variety of additional administrative duties.
Tony Markin, MBA, CA, CFP, TEP
Tax & Estate Planning Consultant. Tony is a chartered accountant with a specialty in income tax planning for private and family business owners. Formerly a member of Sun Life's Wealth Protection Group, Tony worked with financial advisors, planning and implementing strategies for their business clients. He works with business owners and their allied professionals in developing integrated tax effective wealth transfer and financial risk management solutions.
Jim Merz
Benefits Consulting Associate. Jim is approaching the 30 year mark of a diverse Group Life & Health Insurance career. Jim started as a Group Sales representative working in all three Western Provinces over a twenty year period. Because of his hard work and commitment to client service Jim became Director of Western Group Sales for two major Canadian Group insurers. He also worked with Canada's largest Employee and Family Assistance provider and spent time as a VP of Sales for an effective WCB Disability Management program. Jim now brings his expertise to Dehoney and Associates.
Samantha Moore
Group Benefits Account Manager. Samantha comes to us with 18 years of industry experience gained through various roles at large insurance carriers such as Manulife Financial, Transamerica Life and Zurich Canada. Samanthas background in customer service, renewal and rate negotiations, and plan design changes provides our Group Benefit customers with superior knowledge and support.
Lisa Omeasoo
Lisa joined us in April 2006 as Life Insurance Specialist. She compliments our team with 16 years of extensive life insurance product and industry experience gained as Marketing Director with Hub Financial, the largest Managing General Agency in Canada. In our Life Insurance division, Lisa works closely with Jim Dehoney and Janice Mackay-Smith in ensuring that all of our individual clients' life insurance portfolios are designed to meet their changing & on-going needs, plans and objectives - today and in the future. Lisa also collaborates with our tax & legal professionals in providing tax & cost-efficient life insurance based Estate Planning solutions.
Dave Pundick, BA, CFP
Dave is responsible for our group/individual retirement and investment planning division. He assists individuals in developing an investment strategy and in establishing long-term financial plans. Dave conducts group investment meetings and works closely with our group clients on plan design and service issues. He holds a mutual fund license and is a member of the Canadian Association of Financial Planners. Dave has successfully completed the certified financial planner (CFP) program and examinations.
Irene Serwaczak, BA
Irene joined Dehoney Financial Group in 2004 after nine years in group benefits with Clarica and Sun Life Financial. Her varied experience in several areas of group benefits including underwriting, group administration systems and plan & member services provide a solid background for her role as Group Account Manager.
Gary Wardrop, CLU
Gary joined us in 1999 to develop solutions to the risks involved with disabilities and serious medical conditions for both individuals and groups. As a living benefits consultant, Gary designs fully portable disability plans with locked in definitions and rates. Gary also develops disability programs that recognize the special training, education and method of remuneration specific to Executives.
Dehoney Administration Services
Bill Lane, B. Comm.
Bill Lane manages our benefits administration company, Dehoney Administrative Services. With 17 plus years experience in this area he oversees all aspects of plan administration including systems design, implementation, and auditing. Bill's strength is his ability to deliver an administrative system customized to each client's unique situation.
Bill also partners with our clients to create fully customized total compensation statements, health spending account programs and cost plus arrangements.
Rosa Mattia, BA
Benefits Administrator. Rosa is a recent graduate from SFU with a degree in political science and is a recent addition to the Dehoney Administrative Team. She has experience in the customer service industry and has worked within the health care industry.
Sarah Cathey, BA
Benefits Administrator. Sarah has several years of administrative and customer service experience in both the public and private sectors. She communicates information between insurers and clients, keeps accurate records, and resolves any claims issues that arise. She provides clients with helpful and promt service, and stays well apprised of their goals and concerns.
Vy Pham
Sr. Group Benefits Administrator. Under the direction of Bill Lane, Vy is responsible for providing Third Party Administration and Health Care Spending Accounting service for Dehoney Financial Groups clients.
This position is responsible for the education, communication and administration of the group insurance program and other benefits available to our clients. With her past experience working with various insurance companies, Vy is able to use her knowledge to effectively identify claims problems and resolve them in a timely manner. She also demonstrates a superior commitment to meeting customer needs by providing prompt, accurate responses to clients requesting information on group health and dental benefits, and procedures.
Ras Thongmanee
Benefits Administrator. Ras has eight years of extensive customer service experience.
This position is responsible for providing both our large and small clients, with day to day assistance in a number of areas. She responds knowledgeably to client inquiries and handles administrative changes quickly and accurately.
